Leo Burnett/ARC Worldwide- Interaction Designer

Job Title:Interaction Designer
Job Location:Chicago, Illinois, United States
Salary:Paid
Job Description:Arc Worldwide, the marketing services arm of Leo Burnett, is looking for Interaction Designers for our Chicago office.

Overview
Leo Burnett/Arc has a dynamic, fast-paced and competitive digital practice embedded like a crown jewel within a world-class, global advertising agency. We work on a full-range of digital projects, from rollover and rich online advertising, games, mobile devices, kiosks, promotional and product-launch microsites, to robust "brand.com" web sites and redesigns. Our clients are big and have lots going on – McDonald’s, Kellogg’s, RIM/Blackberry, Whirlpool, Purina, and Allstate, to name a few.

At Leo Burnett/Arc, everything we do…

• is done through the eyes of human beings rather than through the eyes of marketers—or even consumers.
• is inspired by a human purpose—a human purpose more powerful than a positioning or promise could ever be.
• is rooted in the belief that creativity is most powerful when it creates HumanKind acts, not just advertising.

Our digital practice is growing in both size and influence. We believe in the power of the digital world to bring people together, to build brands, and to affect and change behaviors. We are passionate about our work from the strategy all the way through to the delivery, and all points in between. We are dedicated to exploring advances in both technology and social behavior to find innovative applications and build our clients’ business.

Interaction Design
The Interaction Design team is committed to human-centered design principles. We are evangelists for supporting human needs and behaviors. The Interaction Designer designs the core functionality and behavior of the digital applications we create. IxDs collaborate closely with strategists, visual designers and writers, content strategists, and technical specialists, while working within a client team.

What Our Teams Need From You
• Thrive in a collaborative environment.
• Be present, engaged and communicating both formally and informally with your team.
• Present work internally and to clients
• Articulate the practice of IxD within your team and outward to clients
• Be passionate about brands, marketing, and how they are expressed through digital projects

• Create all IxD artifacts, such as interaction models, task flows, personas, wireframes, site maps, and user/functional requirements, that are relevant to the project
• Use Visio, Omnigraffle, Illustrator, InDesign, to build documents (we are flexible based on your personal needs).
• Have understanding of Web 2.0/Ajax/CSS/HTML/Flash development as they apply to designing digital applications
• Plan, implement, and analyze research
• Speak for the human being—her needs, goals, activities, experiences, and mindset—throughout the project

What You Can Expect From Us
We understand that this is not a one-way street. You probably have you pick of places to work. We will provide an atmosphere where you have the opportunity to do great work, to dive into and figure out thorny problems. We will open the door to work with team members as committed to doing great work as you are. We have a global network that provides multiple opportunities and projects. We have resources and technologies available to you that smaller places would not. We are a place where you can make a difference.

Job Requirements:What We’d Like to Know About You
• Your educational background with specialty in HCI, design, psychology, anthropology, psychology, sociology or other related field; graduate degrees are welcome.
• Your work – a portfolio of examples of your work
• Your experience: we’d like you to come to us with about 3 years experience, and up. We have positions for all levels of experience.
